Tier 1 CSP in India Chooses Atrinet for Multi-domain Automated Discovery and Sync System

Ensures 100% Accuracy of Network Data, Slashing Operational Costs and Complexity While Accelerating Deployment of Revenue Generating Services

Hod Hasharon, Israel – March 2020

Atrinet, a leading provider of network management solutions, announced that its NetACE, unique model-driven, DevOps-enabled, network discovery and automation framework has been chosen by a Tier 1 CSP in India to automate an outdated manually updated resource management inventory system.

The CSP was looking to modernize their operations by selecting an events-driven discovery platform, able to listen to network activity and then sync devices automatically, exporting up-to-date network/service data to the resource management inventory system via a sync engine.

With their current RM system, the CSP must populate the network device data by a time-consuming, inefficient process. Network changes, for example, are not reflected in real-time. This leads to stranded assets, with the average data accuracy of the CSP’s RM system around 50%-60%. As such the operations team found itself flying blind, at a loss to know what exactly they had in their network.

“The complexity of managing resources and inventory of a dynamic multi-domain network comprised of 30 vendors, scores of NMS platforms for hundreds of device types, and up to 150,000 network elements is staggering,” explains Efi Levi, CEO of Atrinet. “The operational costs resulting from maintaining such an outmoded system are significant. The absence of having a unified real time network view of their underlying assets is a major impediment to effective decision making. Without accurate network information, it is virtually impossible to bring on-stream new revenue drivers in a timely and cost-effective manner.

“Atrinet was pleased to collaborate with a leading vendor of operational support systems (OSS), which provided both the Resource Manager and the sync engine that mediates with the NetACE discovery platform,” says Levi. “By deploying Atrinet’s NetACE solution as part of the operational support systems (OSS) suite, service providers can maintain their platforms, cut network operational costs, shorten service delivery time, and reduce the risk associated with the introduction of new network services.”

The Atrinet platform pro-actively discovers and reports detailed and 100% accurate information about all physical network resources (for example chassis, slots, shelves, and ports), as well as all logical network resources (for example VLANs, RT/DTs, VRF/VSIs). For maximum flexibility, various discovery scenarios may be employed, including bulk discovery, events-driven and on-demand.

Atrinet’s NetACE solution is OSS/inventory agnostic and easily integrates to any existing inventory system and data model. The inventory data is exposed on-demand to 3rd party inventory systems, portals and service assurance tools via NetACE’s open northbound APIs.
